Our favorite tips for managing overwhleming amounts of information, gadgets, applications and opportunities that come our way these days...

  •   Mary Bullard recommends: Randy Dean's Taming the E-mail and Info Overload Beast: Managing the Mess of E-mail and Information Overload  I heard Randy speak this summer...he is very entertaining and his ideas a great.  You can download the first chapter of his book from the web site below. He is from the Lansing area but charges to speak. http://www.randalldean.com/Tame_Email_Beast.html
  • Jane Perzyk recommends David Allen's book, Getting Things Done, and its accompanying website. Here's a link to some of his tips: http://www.davidco.com/tips_tools.php There are actually GTD groupies, from what I hear.
  •  Jane Perzyk recommends a blog post from Steve Rubel's Micro Persuasion blog: "Could the Interruption Economy Sack Prosperity?" available at http://www.micropersuasion.com/2008/02/could-the-inter.html
  • Carol Isakson recommends a free 21 page PDF, "The New Time Management: Simply Focus on the Fundamentals, and Toss Away the Tips" by Francis Wade. "In time management, there are 7 core fundamentals that all professionals must employ to transform time demands into action: Capturing, Emptying, Tossing, Storing, Acting Now, Scheduling and Listing."  http://changethis.com/45.04.NewTime  This was recommended in Doug Johnson's Blue Skunk Blog http://doug-johnson.squarespace.com/ that I subscribed to while looking for something else - of course!
